The German is not known as a striker for club or country, but Thomas Muller is a top contender for the Golden Boot in 2014. Muller scored a hat trick in a dominating display against Portugal in his sides first game of the tournament, taking his tally of World Cup goals to 8 in 7 games. The Bayern Munich star has been pivotal as part of the attack for Joachim Lowe's side, proving to be influential once again in Germany's second game against Ghana. providing the assist for club mate Mario Gotze to score the opening goal. Muller knows what it is like to take the Golden Boot at the World Cup finals. In South Africa four years ago, the 24-year-old scored five goals with three assists to take the title of top scorer, including a man of the match performance against England in the knockout stages and the award of best young player. Muller is already a Champions League, multiple Bundesliga and Golden Boot winner, but is yet to win a World Cup. The German will be looking to once again take the honours of being named Golden Boot winner, this time with a World Cup winners medal to match.
