5 Deadline Day Football Transfers That Could Happen

4. Dayot Upamecano To Arsenal

Unai Emery's Arsenal are clearly in desperate need of defensive reinforcements.

It's all well and good having Alexandre Lacazatte, Pierre-Emerick Aubemeyang and new signing Nicolas Pepe bringing goals and fluid attacking prowess to your side, but that means nought if you've got a defence based around Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis.

Thankfully for the Gooners faithful, Arsenal could yet land France U21 international Dayot Upemacano before the transfer window closes on Thursday.

Reportedly, the North London club have already lodged a bid of £55 million for the pacy centre-back - although Red Bull Leipzig have rejected that offer.

Leipzig are looking for at least £70 million for the player, with Upemacano actually having a release clause of £92 million.

With the versatility to fill in at full-back as well as being one of the best young central defenders in European football, Upemacano would be a fantastic fit for Arsenal. Well, should the Emirates side be willing to shill out the cash to bring the Frenchman to the club.
