5 Key Races That All Motorsport Fans Should Consider Going To See

3. Indianapolis 500 (United States)

qwewq The Indianapolis 500 is probably the most oldest motorsport race in the world. Since it opened in 1909, "The Brickyard" held various other races in it's time including Formula 1 (United States Grand Prix), NASCAR (Brickyard 400) and Moto GP (Grand Prix Of Indianapolis), but has always been famous for hosting the famous Indianapolis 500 Indycar race. Along with the Le Mans and Monaco races, the Indy 500 race is considered to be one of the most important races on the racing calender. This race is very popular with American fans as well as global race fans that head to Indy every year to see the race and also to a world wide tv audience, everytime it comes to race day it's always a good atmosphere for the fans and they get their race souvenirs etc. It's also a mostly sellout race with 250,000 fans flocking into the circuit to see their Indycar heroes flying around the famous circuit at 220mph. In 2011 saw one of the most bizarre finishes in Indy 500 history ever - American J.R Hildebrand was leading the race into the final corner when he crashed his car into the wall, leaving the door wide open for Englishman, former Indycar champion and former Indy 500 winner Dan Wheldon to take the win. As proven in the 2011 race and in past races, this races never fails to surprise and entertain, and it always puts the smiles on the fans too!
