5 Liverpool Youngsters You Can Expect To See In First Team Very Soon

3. Conor Coady

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRhXo9aUmK8 Another local lad who is showing attributes of natural leadership and a potential future first-team captain. A central midfielder by trade with a high work-rate and a leader by example, sound familiar? Comparisons have already been made with current captain Steven Gerrard as he ply's his trade in the heart of Liverpool's reserve team, even captaining the NextGen team last season. Was a surprise not to see him in a cameo role last season under Kenny Dalglish after an impressive performance during the 2011/12 pre-season resulting in his first senior goal. Expect him to flourish if given a chance in Brendan Rodgers' trusted 4-3-3 formation.

2. Raheem Sterling

Hype has followed this 17-year old around for most of his early career, from being snapped up from the QPR academy in a potential multi-million pound deal to scoring 5 goals in a FA Youth Cup match resulting in the then 16-year old being invited to travel with the senior squad in a 2010/11 Europa League tie. If he lives up to the hype then Liverpool have an exceptional talent on their books, fans have already witnessed glimpses of the wingers trickery and pace when he came off the bench in last season's Premier League home defeat to Wigan Athletic. Brendan Rodgers has already talked of loaning him out for the 2012/13 season to aid his progression, but if he keeps making noises during pre season and playing without fear like in previous performances then the manager will have no choice but to put him straight into the first team, regardless of his age.
