5 Players Man City MUST Sign This Summer
Could these players be the key to winning the quadruple?
You could argue that Manchester City don't exactly need to sign anyone this summer. They broke 11 records en route to winning the Premier League this season including most passes, most goals and most wins as they amassed an incredible 100 points. Their closest challengers Manchester United finished a whopping 19 points behind their rivals and never looked like troubling Pep Guardiola's City.
Nevertheless, this is a side which will not rest on their laurels ahead of the 2018/19 season. Guardiola has already spent £448m on players since arriving in 2016, despite taking over a team which boasted the likes of Kevin de Bruyne, Raheem Sterling, David Silva, Fernandinho and Sergio Aguero.
You can expect many more millions to be invested on new arrivals as Pep looks to bring in major additions to strengthen all departments of his side - he is ambitious and so are his players. The one thing missing from Manchester City's rapidly expanding trophy cabinet is the Champions League title, and alongside retaining the Premier League next season, it will be a major priority.
Perhaps with the additions of these five players, Manchester City can become champions of Europe and even complete a historic quadruple next season...
5. Riyad Mahrez
A year since the Algerian expressed his desire to leave Leicester City he could finally get his wish this summer having been rumoured to be joining Man City for months.
The transfer almost went through in January after Mahrez handed in a transfer request to force through the move but the Citizens weren't happy with Leicester's valuation and halted their pursuit temporarily, presumably aware they were going to win the Premier League regardless.
For the second time in three seasons the 27-year-old winger has hit double figures for goals & assists and would give City even more strength in depth in attack alongside Sané, Sterling & Silva.
With a full pre-season to become acquainted with Pep's methods due to his lack of World Cup involvement, this transfer is highly likely and rumoured to be going through soon for around £60m.
