5 Predictions For UFC Fight Night: Bisping Vs. Silva
5. Daniel Omielaczuk vs. Jarjis Danho
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKeujYtjkQ8 Weight Class: Heavyweight UFC Fight Night: Bisping vs. Silva, otherwise known as UFC Fight Night 84, has a vast undercard with a whole host of local (UK) and foreign fighters, but not a lot of standout bouts. Here we'll take a look at the lone heavyweight fight on the card: Daniel Omielaczuk (17-5-1) taking on UFC newcomer Jarjis Danho (6-0). Fresh blood in the heavyweight division is always a big deal. Talented big men are hard to come by, and the division is the oldest in the UFC when you talk about the average age of fighters in the weight class. It's rare to find a heavyweight under his mid-30s these days, let alone in his twenties. Jarjis Danho isn't going to help the age of the division by much, at 32, but he's a fair bit younger than the biggest names in the weight class (champ Fabricio Werdum is pushing forty, and names like Roy Nelson, Mark Hunt, Josh Barnett, Andrei Arlovski, Frank Mir, and Antonio Silva are all north of 35). He's also something of a feel-good story: an undefeated fighter from Syria, making his UFC debut. Octagon jitters and a step up in competition could be his downfall. Daniel Omielaczuk is far from the top of the division, but he has nearly four times the experience in number of fights than Danho, and is 2-2 in the UFC. Danho comes out of a relatively unknown camp and is still green as both a striker and wrestler, instead relying on size and knockout power thus far in his career. That got him through his six regional bouts unscathed, but is a concern. However, Danho looks to be incredibly strong, has a considerable size advantage (he cuts weight to make 265lbs), and may come out guns blazing. Danho by knockout in the first.
