5 Premier League Managers Under Pressure

1. Martin Jol

Fulham's Dutch coach says he does not feel under pressure despite only three Premier League wins and a Capital One Cup exit at the hands of Championship club Leicester City. Southampton neatly illustrated the gulf in class between their resurgent selves and Fulham last weekend with a 2-0 win that flattered the Londoners on their trip to St Marys. It could have easily been five or six. There's a real lethargy about Fulham under Jol. Midfield movement is laboured at best in the middle. Nearly all the options in this key area of the pitch are 30-somethings. Desperate cries from the Craven Cottage crowd for younger legs have largely fallen on deaf ears. Jol has put all his eggs into the basket of a forward partnership between Dimitar Berbatov and loan signing Darren Bent. The pair played together at Tottenham Hotspur, though it was Robbie Keane who was more commonly paired with the cultured Bulgarian. Bent is feeding off scraps whilst Berbatov cuts a frustrated figure in his second season in West London. What ultimately might spell the deathblow for Jol is the fact he was the previous owner's choice of coach. New chief Shaid Khan may want to bring his own man in should this Fulham slide continue.
