5 Reasons Newcastle United Won't Finish In The Top Four
5. There Are At Least Four Teams Better Than Them
Nice and easy to start of with, but it is true that the teams in the Premier League at the moment are of extremely high quality, and with Arsenal, last season's fourth placed side, the side that have set the tone for this season, the bigger clubs are only getting bigger and better. Newcastle have a lot of very talented players, but other teams have better players, and a couple of stars in a team such as Tim Krul and Cabaye will not reach the Champions League all on their own. If you ask most football fans they could probably name five or six teams that can finish in the top four, and none of them are likely to be the Magpies. The lack of success the club have experienced in the past few seasons has not helped their quest to challenge higher up the table, and it is a struggle to see where their high expectations come from. All of the teams currently in contention for the top four have been consistently there or there about for at least the last five years, whereas the Magpies have jumped from promotion to 12th to fifth in the last three years, and no consistency has yet shown itself.
