5 Reasons Why Chelsea Will Win The Premier League

2. Defensive Prowress

Chelsea's defence, marshalled by John Terry of late, was pretty mean in 2012-13. The Blues conceded a mere 39 league goals last season, despite injuries to Terry and others. It's pretty much the same crew as last year in the back line for the Blues, with Cesar "Dave" Azpilicueta, David Luiz, Branislav Ivanovic, Ashley Cole, and others, including youngster Tomas Kalas, vying for a starting place in a settled defensive line With Van Ginkel coming in just in front, and with Schwartzer covering Cech in the defence, their back-line is looking just as strong this term, and will be key should their title challenge have a realistic chance of succeeding. Mourinho's teams always have good defensive records, and it's a mark of how good he thinks this set of defenders are that no new defenders have been signed. All boding well for the Stamford Bridge faithful for the coming season.
