5 Things Manchester City Fans Can Expect From Raheem Sterling

As a Manchester City fan I spent much of last season asking questions that went, mostly, unanswered. Why did we not buy better players in the close season? Why is Yaya Toure seem to be so lazy? Will Kompany ever be the dominant player he used to be again? Will we ever score from a corner again? Why does Navas only run down the wing and kick the ball into defenders€™ legs? And why the hell do we keep getting Barcelona in the European Champions League? City came second, but they looked miles away from Chelsea for much of the season. It felt as if we were treading water, perhaps waiting for Guardiola to arrive, to shake us from our torpor. Even the arrival of Wilfried Bony failed to ignite a stuttering campaign. Not for the first time as a City supporter I was glad when the season finished. Not because of the usual mild form of depression (remember the Alan Ball era at Maine Road? That was the football equivalent of a trip to a Dignitas clinic every other week). No, those days have gone. I was just bored. Bored with Chelsea, bored with the cups, bored with a lack of ambition. And of course I was irritated that United were improving. Which is why I€™m excited by the arrival of Raheem Sterling to City. Why? What can he bring to the team that might make the difference between runners-up and champions and, perhaps, progressing to a later stage in Europe (if we can avoid you-know-who).
