Cristiano Ronaldo looked to have taken Lionel Messi's crown in recent years, winning consecutive Ballon d'Or awards in 2013 and 2014. However, his Argentinian rival struck back with a fearsome 2015, and is surely favourite to scoop the mantle for his incredible treble-winning season with Barcelona. Despite this, if anyone has the physical attributes, the talent, and the raw determination to claw back an advantage, it's the Real Madrid man. Ronaldo hasn't had the best of seasons in terms of success, but continues to dominate on the pitch. In October, he became the team's all-time top goalscorer, a frightening stat considering the fact that he's only 30 years of age. Ronaldo could well be given a new lease of life under incoming Real manager Zinedine Zidane, and if one of football's all-time greats can impart some key guidance to another, we could be seeing an even further improved CR7 in 2016.
