Underdogs yet favourites, the Panthers have somehow achieved the feat of retaining a perceived less-than-great status whilst, simultaneously, entering Super Bowl 50 as odds-on favourites not in the least thanks to an enviably excellent regular season record. The Panthers might be a 22-year-old team, but it took the recent formidable winning form in Charlotte to earn the respect that Carolina surely deserved. Despite several playoff appearances, Ron Rivera's boys still struggled in 2015 to win the acclaim that a 15-1 winning streak ought to deliver. Whilst the Panthers' Championship win has put paid to many doubts, players and coaching staff alike will still be hungry for the victory, come Sunday, to cement themselves as underdogs no more.
