6 Bizarre Moments In Floyd Mayweather's Career

5. Mayweather Fights The Big Show On WWE: Raw (February, 2008) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2nRfCRYGA8 Rey Mysterio challenged Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship belt at No Way Out in 2008. After Mysterio failed the 6-1-9, Edge speared him in mid-air, got the three-count, and left Mysterio writhing in pain on the mat. The Big Show made his return to the ring, saying, "I'm faster, I'm meaner, and I'm ready to be back in the WWE." With those words, he jumped out of the ring and grabbed the helpless Mysterio. As Mayweather looked on from the audience, Big Show kept imploring him to do something. Big Show dragged Mysterio into the ring and prepared to throw him. Mayweather and his entourage had enough, and rushed the ring. Big Show taunted the furious Mayweather by dropping to a knee. Mayweather clocked The Show with a massive combo that broke his nose. Mayweather and his crew fled the scene, but the saga was just beginning. The Show issued a public apology to Mayweather the next night on Raw, but then challenged him to a one-on-one match, where else, but at Wrestlemania XXIV. At the weigh-ins before the event, Mayweather tipped the scales at 159 pounds. Meanwhile, The World's Largest Athlete weighed in at 441.4 pounds. The long-awaited pay-per-view event finally got underway on March 30. It was a no-disqualification event, with the winner only being declared via pinfall, knockout, of submission. Mayweather started off eluding his much bigger opponent. Each time The Show attempted a grapple move, Mayweather would evade and nail The Show with massive body combos. Midway through, The Show finally caught his opponent on the ground and stomped on his hand. The Show then nailed the downed Mayweather with an elbow drop. Mayweather's entourage had enough. They pulled their man out of the ring and tried bringing him backstage. A furious Show charged up the ramp, tearing through three bodyguards before dragging Mayweather back into the ring. As The Show prepared to finish Mayweather with a Chokeslam, one of Mayweather's entourage members hit The Show from behind with a chair. While The Show was dispatching the distraction, Mayweather started nailing Show with chair combos. Mayweather picked up brass knuckles and finished off the World's Largest Athlete with a right. The Big Show failed to answer the referee's ten count, and Mayweather was declared the victor, despite the largest of odds.
