Back in 1995, when Figo was just 22 years old and playing for Sporting Lisbon, the Portuguese international moved to Barcelona for a fee of around £2 million, but only after a transfer saga that even FIFA had to get involved in.

The winger travelled to Italy to formalise a move to Turin club, Juventus, and ended up in a tug of war between the Old Lady and Parma. Having signed contracts with both clubs, eventually FIFA had to step, which resulted in a ban being slapped on Figo, blocking the future Ballon d'Or winner from moving to Italy for two years.

As we all know though, this wasn't the only controversial transfer Figo was involved in..
