6 Reasons Why England Should Use 3-5-2 Formation

3. The Lethal Wingers

If the mid-field issues are the current and old school weakness for the three-lions, then wingers at the coaches disposal is a notable strength of the national team.

A plethora of direct pacy wingers such as Theo Walcott, Raheem Sterling, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Andros Townsend, Nathan Dyer, Wayne Routledge, Nathan Redmond, Aaron Lennon and Adam Johnson are on full display every weekend in the premier league.

Although the likes of Walcott, Sterling and Oxlade-Chamberlain can be deployed advanced mid-field or striker positions in the 3-5-2, generally such wingers wouldn't work in this system.

However they would perfect impact substitutions. In a hypothetical match situation, the England coach could easily alter the 3-5-2 to a 4-3-3 for example and unleash these players and the end off matches, causing tired defenses nightmares.

Which full-back or defender would want to face Sterling in current form running at them in the final 20 to 30 minutes of a game?
