This formation will allow Daniel Sturridge and Wayne Rooney to play as the central strikers, instead of being potentially sacrificed out wide for the sake of team balance.

England certainly doesn't need its best two attackers or even Danny Welbeck (although he needs to prove he can score goals consistently now at Arsenal) playing out wide ever again.
