7 Contenders For PFA Young Player Of The Year 2019/20

3. Jack Grealish

That Jack Grealish is in the reckoning for the 'best young player' prize despite plying his trade with an Aston Villa team embroiled in relegation struggles, is a testament to the Englishman's precocious talents.

His ball-control is second to none, while his ability to dribble has left defenders in the knots. Still only 24, Grealish has also taken to his captainship responsibilities with aplomb and even been the standout performer in the side.

He has seven goals and six assists to his name, really impressive when you also consider he mainly operates from the midfield, and no player in the squad even comes close to that tally. The ex-Notts Country player also played a key role in guiding his side to the Carabao Cup finals with two goals and assists each, which is again the most in the team.

Suffice to say, Grealish is having a breakout year with the Villas and that hasn't gone unnoticed as several bigwigs in the division reportedly have him on their books. And he might as well clinch the young player award should the Aston Villa skipper help steer his side clear of relegation eventually.
