7 Contenders For PFA Young Player Of The Year 2019/20

2. Tammy Abraham

Chelsea's transfer embargo turned out to be a blessing in disguise for Tammy Abraham. With no new striker coming in, Frank Lampard gave him the opportunity to lead the line and suffice to say he has pounced on the chance.

After impressing with Aston Villa in the Championship last season, Abraham has successfully replicated his heroics in the Premier League landscape too. He stormed to seven goals from the opening five games, including a wonderful hat-trick against Wolverhampton and then went on to further build on the momentum.

The 22-year old has also impressed with his holdup play and intelligent movements, while his eye for pass has yielded four assists to go with his encouraging goal-scoring statistics.

Abraham has been the cream of this young and exciting crop of Chelsea players taking the league by storm, and would've posted even better figures had injuries not disrupted his campaign in the last few games.

His rich vein of form even earned him his maiden international cap with the Three Lions back in November, and his contributions in Chelsea's eventual finish will dictate Abraham's prospects of winning the prize.
