7 Contenders For PFA Young Player Of The Year 2019/20
1. Trent Alexander-Arnold
Liverpool's barnstorming run in the Premier League this season is down to a monumental collective effort, but several players have been at their absolute best too, none more so than Alexander-Arnold.
With another 12 assists in the bag, he set the record for the being the first ever player in the league to register 10+ assists in two consecutive seasons, and his tally is bettered only by Kevin De Bruyne in the top-flight.
His importance to the Reds can be further accentuated when you see he's participated in all of the 29 league games missing only an hour's action overall!
The 21-year old's confidence on the ball, swift decision-making, relentless runs down the flank, and impeccable set-piece deliveries completely belie his age.
The jury might still be out on his lack of defensive play, but the English international more than makes up for it with his stupendous overall contribution. He is redefining the full-back position with his inimitable qualities and has already achieved so much in his relatively short career.
Alexander-Arnold has all the makings of a modern day legend, and will be a worthy winner of the prize too.
