7 Players Left Out Of Newcastle's USA Squad - What's It Mean For Their Futures?

4. Remy Cabella

Remy Cabella may not have featured against Gateshead on Friday night but he did turn up at the International Stadium in his bright orange Audi and accessorised-to-the-max with his usual snapback positioned somewhat awkwardly on his huge, spiked-up hair.

However, reports quickly emerged that Cabella was suffering from a thigh strain, with McClaren stating that the results of a scan had ruled the playmaker out of the tour to the USA.

The cynics among Newcastle fans may point to the constant reports about Cabella's future - including the most recent being that he has been offered in part-exchange for Bordeaux forward Diego Rolan - and state that he has been left behind in order to quicken his Tyneside departure.

Cabella's representatives have maintained that the £12 million 2014 summer signing from Montpellier wants to remain at Newcastle, but the rumours of his imminent departure continue to gather pace.

Again it would have been good for Cabella's future at Newcastle, should he stay, if he had been able to get some gametime under his belt on this tour following a disappointing debut season, but that is simply not going to happen.

The midfielder's NUFC future is well and truly in the balance right now.
