7 Reasons Why Man Utd Would Be Crazy To Sell Angel Di Maria

6. He Is Miles Better Than Pedro Rodriguez

The Mirror have reported that a £23 million fee has been agreed between Manchester United and Barcelona to sign Pedro Rodriguez. The Barcelona winger is a fine footballer and would be a welcome asset to Louis van Gaal's 4-3-3 formation but he only made 15 starts for Luis Enrique last season and has become widely regarded as an impact substitute. Yes, the competition at the Camp Nou is fierce and only a select few players could get into their side ahead of Neymar, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez but Angel Di Maria is one of them. The Red Devils signed the Argentine playmaker when he was widely regarded as one of the finest players in world football, sitting just behind Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Andres Iniesta. Man United fans (and neutrals) shrieked in delight when his signature was announced and gawped over his pinpoint mohawk and mischievous grin. The Pedro transfer isn't of the same calibre. Louis van Gaal will be looking to challenge in Europe this season and by selling a player (to a european rival) who started almost every game at Real Madrid and replacing him with a man who doesn't make Barcelona's first team is a step in the wrong direction.
