Quite what Henri Saivet is supposed to bring to Newcastle United, only Steve McClaren currently knows but whatever it is, it isn't a direct hand in scoring goals. Despite his strong form this season, Saivet has mustered just two goals in Ligue 1, and not a single assist. Regardless, that partly sum would still put him joint 4th in Newcastle's scoring charts this season, above Papiss Cisse, Moussa Sissoko, Vurnon Anita, Jack Colback, and Florian Thauvin, so perhaps McClaren is merely working to a bar that's already been set pretty low. Regardless though, Newcastle still have a huge issue in both the creation and the taking of good chances, and Newcastle fans will have to hope that Saivet isn't the only acquisition the club are making to try and address this issue.
