7 Things Rangers Must Do To Challenge Celtic

5. Stop Showing Too Much Respect

If there's one thing Celtic are good at, it's talking up their own players. The latest example is 21-year old Frenchman Moussa Dembélé. Plucked from relative obscurity at Fulham, Dembélé has been a goal machine in Scotland, finding the net 33 times since moving to Glasgow. Still, he's hardly a world beater.

Yes, Moussa is a natural striker, but he's not exactly something Rangers haven't faced before. Don't forget that the Parkhead side once boasted forwards like Henrik Larsson and Robbie Keane, so a young French kid barely out of his teens shouldn't phase anyone. Unfortunately for Rangers fans, the club's players believe the hype.

This respect Gers players have for Celtic was shown once again during the latest Old Firm derby. Pedro Caxinha played Alfredo Morelos up front on his own and packed the midfield to try and stifle his rivals. It didn't work, and it made Rangers look second rate in a game during which Celtic didn't even play well.

They didn't have to, and that needs to change.
