We've seen how lively and energetic Irish crowds can be when Cage Warriors has run shows at the Helix. Double the capacity, double the hype and you've got a genuine crowd that will leek passion and excitement, which is nothing but good for all fighters competing on the card. Well, except for any opposing an Irishman. The Dublin O2 is typically a music concert venue, however it's untraditional feel for fight night (in a good way) added to the atmosphere at UFC 93. Its compactness will only add to the raucous of the crowd. People tend to coin the term "fighting Irish" and they couldn't be more right. Irish folk love a good fight, and when the UFC returns this Saturday, that's exactly what they are going to get. Anyone with a good knowledge of UFC history will remember how lively the UFC 93 crowd was, and that was for a main card without an Irish fighters. Since then, Irish and UKMMA has taken a huge leap forward, producing their own headlining talent. Now amplify the crowd at UFC 93 by a million now that they have their own blood to cheer for. It will truly be electrifying and goosebumps will be flying through the arena. The fact that the UFC sold 8,000 tickets in under an hour can be attributed to either two things; one, the passion and desire of Irish MMA fans who haven't seen the UFC on their home soil for over five years, or two, the stardom of Conor McGregor.
