7 Threats To UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman's Crown
2. Vitor Belfort

It seems that controversy follows Vitor Belfor wherever he goes. The Brazilian has one of the longest tenures on the UFC roster - he made his debut at UFC 12 in 1997 - but has consistently been among the organizations elite fighters. Hes been enjoying a late career renaissance recently, but his use of the recently banned TRT (testosterone replacement therapy) has put him under a fair share of criticism by fight fans and fellow fighters alike.
Now that TRT has been officially banned by the UFC and the athletic commissions, Belfort has taken time off to wean his body off the substance and allow his hormone levels to rebalance. It remains to be seen if hell be able to recreate the magic that hes been displaying in the cage as of late, but when he returns Belfort is at most one fight away from a title shot against Chris Weidman. After all, he was originally supposed to receive the next shot before he pulled out and was replaced by the next man on our list.
