8 Best Late Comebacks In UFC History
5. Todd Duffee Vs. Mike Russow
If looks could kill in MMA, Todd Duffee may have been the greatest heavyweight of all time. The one-time Never Back Down 2 star was 253lbs of chiselled muscle, and one of the top heavyweight prospects in the UFC when he fought Mike Russow at UFC 114.
Mike Russow on the other-hand possessed decidedly less of a movie star physique. Made up of an entirely different composition of 253lbs, Russow was a part-time police officer that looked like he enjoyed one too many doughnuts on the job.
But Russow did have the experience factor, with more than double the number of fights Duffee had when they entered the cage.
For the first two rounds, Duffee lived up to his billing as the next big thing at heavyweight. He dominated the striking exchanges and negated Russow's grappling superiority by consistently thwarting the cop's takedown attempts.
The final round featured much of the same, with Duffee's athleticism appearing to trump the experience of Russow.
That is until Russow completely turned the tide of the contest by landing a perfect straight right behind the ear of Duffee, knocking him out.
Russow then followed up with one of the most devastating follow-up strikes in MMA history. Don't believe me? Feast your eyes.
Result: Mike Russow def. Todd Duffee via knockout (punch) – Round 3, 2:35.
