The most recent entry on the list, Paul Craig vs Magomed Ankalev saw the Scot Craig seemingly overmatched against the then-undefeated Ankalaev.

Craig had lost his previous two fights in the UFC, and despite occasional exceptions, three consecutive losses usually marks the end of a fighters tenure in the organisation.

The fight went exactly how almost everyone had predicted it to, with the Russian enjoying success in all facets of MMA.

The massive underdog Craig continued to remain in the fight but was being soundly beaten for the first two rounds.

Desperately needing a finish in the third frame, Craig continued to look for a takedown but was repeatedly denied by Ankalaev. After the Scot fell to the mat, Ankalaev attacked Craig with vicious ground and pound.

The fight was in danger of being stopped several times as Craig found himself stuffed against the fence absorbing punishment. With the remaining seconds of the fight counting down, and with Craig unquestionably heading towards decision loss that may have ended his time with the UFC, he threw his legs up for a triangle choke.

As the claves sounded to indicate just 10 seconds were left in the fight, Craig synched his legs around the head of Ankalev, desperately trying to get the finish.

With just one second of the fight remaining, the Russian tapped, giving the Craig one of the most incredible victories in UFC history.

Result: Paul Craig def. Magomed Ankalaev via submission (triangle choke) – Round 3, 4:59
