Rafael Benitez was a success during his time at Anfield, but he wasn't always able to keep his cool in front of the press. In January 2009, Benitez produced a Keegan-esque rant in which the Spaniard looked visibly riled by Sir Alex Ferguson's comments as the two managers' sides competed for the Premier League title. Stating all of the 'facts' to the press as to why Ferguson receives special treatment appeared to be the beginning of the end for Benitez. Claiming the rivals were 'nervous' about the run-in for the title, Benitez was clearly unhappy with Ferguson's input about a fixture pile-up and went on to rip apart the Scottish manager's relationship with the FA. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOaZYhTd2BU However, like Keegan's entertainers in 1996, Benitez's brood came up just short in the race to lift the title, finishing four points behind the Red Devils and once again it seemed apparent that Ferguson had won the mind games.
