This would leave Walker with only two games to convince Hodgson that he is the man to provide cover for first choice full back Glen Johnson. The Tottenham defender has energy and pace in an abundance; he also has the ability to produce an excellent cross when he does get into attacking positions. These characteristics are appreciated by Hodgson, who likes to see his full backs marauding up the pitch and providing support to the wingers.
