8 Most Influential Players In The Premier League Right Now

8. Daniel Sturridge - Liverpool

This is arguably a slightly contentious choice, given the fact that Sturridge has only played three Premier League games for Liverpool this season, but the 25-year-old is missed so enormously he has to be seen as one of the league's most influential players. All the talk of late has been about how much Brendan Rodgers' side have missed Luis Suarez, and while this is absolutely true, the quality and goals Sturridge brings to the Reds is not a million miles away from the Uruguayan. The former Chelsea man has a sensational goalscoring record since moving to Anfield in January 2013, finding the back of the net 36 times in just 52 appearances, and last season he was a huge reason why Liverpool finished second. He is expected to be out injured until the New Year, and Rodgers is desperate to get him back. The 25-year-old will revitalise the stuttering Merseysiders when he returns, which could prove pivotal considering they have struggled so much to find any kind of form in 2014/15. He brings pace, movement, goals and creativity that the likes of Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert aren't offering consistently enough, and with Suarez gone and Steven Gerrard past his best, Sturridge is the most important player at the club now.
