8 Rangers Players Who Should Be Embarrassed To Wear The Shirt

There's been a real problem at Ibrox Stadium over the past few years. Rangers have continually signed players who have shone at a higher level, only for them to look like they haven't seen a ball once they pull on that famous blue shirt.

One of those players during season 2014-2015 was Marius Zaliukas, a defender who had been so crucial a part of decent Heart Of Midlothian teams previously. Without a good pre-season under his belt, the centre back looked painstakingly slow during his initial appearances - speed has never really been one of his best attributes, but it wasn't uncommon to see the guy being out-sprinted by part-timers.

Even though he did finally find his feet during the latter few months of the campaign, Zaliukas let his fellow team mates down badly by how wide open he left things at the back. Rangers like to push a lot of players forward, so it's only natural to get hit on the break, but where was the defence during times like this?

As part of that back line, Marius should have been far more effective, but his lack of pace and woeful positioning made it simple for teams to exploit. A real lack of communication with Lee McCulloch made it even more difficult, not to mention frustrating for fans to watch.
