One might say that Dimitar Berbatov was one of the most classy finishers to have worn the Spurs' badge in the last 15 years. In terms of pure mouth-watering technical ability, and jaw-dropping skill, the Bulgarian maverick has no parallel. While his Spurs' career ultimately ended in acrimony, with player and club caught in a bitter tug-of-war over a fraught move to Manchester United, there is no denying that he certainly illuminated White Hart Lane following his £10.9 million move from Bayer Leverkusen. While he got off the mark with a goal on his home debut against Sheffield United, don't let that fool you - Berbatov was not an instant success, and indeed there were some worried murmurings regarding Levy's latest multi-million acquisition. Unused to his trademark languid style, certain punters weren't sure what to make of the maverick, as he took a few months to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League. However, qualms were put at ease on a cold November's eve against Wigan Athletic, with the mercurial Bulgarian bagging his first league goal, and setting up two in a 3-1 win. Standing out as head and shoulders above every player on the pitch, he had certainly arrived. With a record of 42 goals in 102 games for the club, it's fair to say that Berbatov never looked back since that frosty night at White Hart Lane.
