You all know the story by now: Ronda Rousey, otherwise known as Rowdy Ronda Rousey, takes her nickname from Rowdy Roddy Piper, her childhood wrestling hero. When it came time to go pro, she actually got her permission to use his moniker. That's a massive show of respect. Further, the two became friends, and Piper was a big supporter of the most dangerous unarmed woman on the planet. Shortly before he passed, he actually called Rousey to offer his support for her at her UFC 190 bout in Brazil. Though he passed away just before it, Rousey dedicated to fight to him, saying that Piper and her father would be watching from above. With Rousey having turned up on WWE programming a few times now, the great shame is that we never got to see the pair work together. What a stable they could have had!
