''I talked with the manager, Roberto Martinez, because it was a big opportunity for me to join one of the biggest clubs in the world. My objective is to win trophies. I play football for this. With Man United, I have a big chance to win something. - Marouane Fellaini, September 2013.
One would wonder whether Marouane Fellaini regretted his hasty decision to follow his Everton boss David Moyes to Old Trafford in the summer of 2013. Not only did he endure a miserable debut campaign in Manchester, dubbed a woeful £27.5 million flop as the Premier League champions finished in seventh position, but the side he had departed finished eight points above his new employers and recorded a league double over them. One cant blame the Belgian midfielder for showing ambition, however, and with the clock ticking down to the close of the 2013 summer transfer window, Fellaini attempted to force his club into action by submitting a transfer request. Manchester United had been linked with a double swoop for he and Leighton Baines all summer, but had already seen one such bid turned down, but with Fellainis request adding fuel to the fire, the midfielder managed to bag his dream move at the last minute. Its just a pity it quickly transcended into a nightmare of sorts.
