Weight Class: Lightweight The debut of Eddie Alvarez (25-3) is here at long last, and the Bellator lightweight champion, who left the organization as their reigning champ, gets a tough first fight against Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone (246 (1)) - not that the fighter would have it any other way. Alvarez has long been considered the best fighter at lightweight outside the UFC, and he now has the chance to prove it. Cowboy, meanwhile, is on a four fight win streak with four finishes. This is a hard bout to call as both these guys are exciting, experienced fighters. Cerrone relies more on submissions, Alvarez more on his fists (with 14 wins by way of knockout), and both have fought in big fights - so despite this being Alvarez's UFC debut, octagon jitters may not be a factor. This is a bout that has fight of the night potential and likely reveals the next title challenger; we're going with Alvarez in this case, by TKO in the third.
