9 Reasons Why Charlie Austin Should Sign For Newcastle

3. It Could Provide Austin With A "Stepping Stone" To Greater Things

Newcastle fans may not like it, and the club may no longer publicly admit it, but there is no doubt in recent seasons that the Magpies have sold themselves to prospective signings as a "stepping stone" to supposed bigger and better things in the future. Yohan Cabaye, Mathieu Debuchy, Loic Remy and Demba Ba have already moved on to so-called "bigger clubs", while Moussa Sissoko is seemingly pining for a future transfer as well. Austin should be advised to reject overtures from Chelsea and Manchester United on this particular occasion, move to Newcastle and prove he can fire in a high number of goals in the Premier League on a regular basis, then a transfer to a Champions League side could arrive in the future. By that stage Austin would be better suited to cement his place in the first team of a top-four side, rather than merely be a peripheral figure as would be the case in 2015-16.
