Loan spells at Watford, Nottingham Forest and Barnsley failed to bring the best out of him so he has since played for clubs including Sunderland, Cardiff City, Ipswich Town - and even Kerala Blasters in India, where he has relatives. In January 2013 Chopra was found guilty of "suspicious betting activity" regarding horse-racing exchanges and the Newcastle-born forward was given a 10-year ban from racing by the British Horseracing Authority.
