Born: Cramlington Newcastle United: 2004-06 Position: Midfielder Premier League Appearances: 1 Premier League Goals: 0 Cramlington-born midfielder Martin Brittain is the only Geordie to feature just once in the Premier League for Newcastle United. That solitary appearance came against Manchester City in May 2004 when he replaced Laurent Robert for the final 15 minutes of the game - although another claim to fame he has is that he started the 1-0 victory over Mansfield Town in the FA Cup third round in January 2006 when Alan Shearer equalled Jackie Milburn's Newcastle scoring record. After playing for the likes of Ipswich Town, Carlisle United, Gateshead and Blyth Spartans, Brittain has represented Bedlington Terriers since 2012.
