5. Start Quicker
Mikel Arteta mentioned before the Bayern game in midweek that Arsenal need to start games quicker, which looking back is something they didn't do. The sluggish start completely handed the initiative to Bayern, and it always felt like they were going to struggle to force the tie back in their favour. There is a general acceptance that Bayern are a stronger team than Arsenal, so looking back a week to Celtic's tie against Juventus could have been good food for thought for Wenger. The weaker Celtic conceded an early goal, and left themselves almost totally at the mercy of the counter attack. Man United have been no strangers to poor starts in the league this season, but their strong start in Madrid has left them in a good position for the return. Domestically for Arsenal, a stronger start and an early goal would surely have seen their FA cup tie with Blackurn last week turn out totally different. Statistically, Arsenal have scored more goals in the last 15 minutes of each half of league games this season, but conceded goals more often before the half hour mark. If they can get into top gear in the opening 30 minutes then 3 points will be much more likely.
