Arsenal: Best Ever Premier League 11

Best Striker 2: Thierry Henry

thierry henry The final component of this team is probably the greatest player in Arsenal history, and arguably the best striker to ever feature in the Premier League, as in 1999 Arsene Wenger spent £11 million on Juventus' World Cup-winning winger Thierry Henry, and turned him into the most prolific goalscorer in the club's history. Having to replace the outgoing Nicholas Anelka, it took a while for Henry to reach his potential in England. However, once he hit his stride in England, he didn't stop putting in classic performances, up to the point that when he reached the top of his game no defender in the league could prevent him from finding the net. The Frenchman's goalscoring was only one weapon at the disposal of the spectacular striker, as he would often go out of his way to lay on goals for his teammates, was incredibly skillful with the ball at his feet, and had an endearing charisma that made him a favourite among all footballing fans (except the Irish). The statistics that Henry provided in his time at Arsenal demonstrate the scale of importance of the player to the success of Arsenal in the early 2000s. His collection of two Premier League victories, including being the spearhead of Arsenal's Invincible side, along with three FA Cups, only tells part of the reason why Henry is considered by Arsenal fans to be the Greatest Player that ever played for the club. 226 goals and 92 assists in 369 games for Arsenal makes Thierry Henry the all-time leading goalscorer for Arsenal, and one of the few foreign players to score over a century of Premier League goals. Henry at Arsenal also won consecutive PFA Player of the Year Awards in 2003 and 2004, three FWA Awards, four Golden Boots, and finished as runner-up twice in the FIFA World Player of the Year Award. Henry's name is consistently brought forward in discussions of the greatest ever Premier League players, and when he returned to the club on loan in 2012 he showed that he still had reserves of the ability that terrified defences in England for nearly a decade. Many await the return of Henry to the club that he regards as his home, and during his stay at Arsenal he became one of the most watchable players in world football.
