Arsenal: Best Ever Premier League 11

Best Goalkeeper: David Seaman

seaman You can't have the nickname of 'Safe Hands' without being a half-decent goalkeeper. That was given to the great David Seaman. Now forget about all the clips you can find on the internet of him being chipped by Ronaldinho or Lee Dixon when he was about 60 years old. The fact that he was England's best keeper at that time was either a testament to the brilliance of Seaman, or the English virtually had an open goal for all of the early 2000's. I like to think it's the former. David Seaman joined Arsenal before the Premier League was even established, and took a rightful place behind George Graham's bulletproof defence. He cost Arsenal £1.3 million , which at the time was a record fee for a British goalkeeper. He proved to be worth every penny. During the Premier League years, Seaman played 325 league games, and was a prominent fixture in the transfer from Graham to Arsene Wenger. Virtually indispensible to the club, Seaman won 2 Premier League Titles, 4 FA Cups and a UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, his final game for Arsenal in the FA Cup final against Southampton, typically keeping a clean sheet. In the first decade of the Premier League, Seaman kept the most clean sheets, and due to his longevity and goal-saving ability, he was part of a time when Arsenal were as water-tight as people believed the Titanic was. 'Safe Hands' was one of the easiest picks to make on this list, and rightfully is Arsenal's greatest goalkeeper of the Premier League Era, if not of all-time. Other contenders: Jens Lehmann
