Arsenal, Chelsea & Manchester United Scrap Over Youngster Niguez

Arsenal and Chelsea are in competition to sign 19-year-old midfielder Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid, according to the Daily Mirror. The promising youngster, who is currently on loan at La Liga side Rayo Vallacano, is a subject of official interest from Arsenal, but it is reported that Chelsea's top scout is also on the case. Mourinho is eyeing the young Spanish U-21 international as a replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, for whom talks with Wolfsburg are at an advanced stage. Manchester United have also reportedly entered the hunt, with assistant Phil Neville reportedly flying personally to Spain to watch Real Vallenco's clash with Getafe. It's thought that Athletico Madrid are amenable to a move as the youngster is not in contention for a first-team place, and to alleviate some of their recent financial problems. The club had UEFA payments withheld in late 2012 over an unpaid tax bill, which contravened UEFA Fair Play regulations. The English clubs may also have competition from FC Barcelona, who are also monitoring the young star, who has has been impressing in the La Liga this season.
