Arsene Wenger has labelled the Chile international as his main transfer target this summer, with the club hopeful a deal can take place. Reports elsewhere claim that a fee has been agreed between the Gunners and Barcelona, but as yet their is no official confirmation from either party. However, according to The Daily Telegraph, Arsenal are optimistic that the transfer can be completed despite no word of an official agreement. Liverpool have now admitted defeat in their bid to sign Sanchez, after the attacker turned down the chance of a move to Anfield. The club had been hoping to sign Sanchez as part of a transfer that would see Luis Suarez move the other way, but that is now expected to be a straight cash deal. The other main competitors for Sanchez€™s signature are believed to be Juventus. The Serie A champions are keen to add to their squad, with many clubs around Europe expressing an interest in their star midfielder Paul Pogba. But, Juventus are said to have been priced out of a move for Sanchez due to the player€™s wage demands. The 25-year-old is reportedly being offered over £100,000-a-week by Arsenal, a deal that would see him become one of the club€™s top earners. Such an amount is believed to be out of Juventus€™ price range, making Arsenal and Wenger confident that the transfer saga will soon be at an end.
