Arsenal Transfer News: Gunners Accuse City Van Persie Tapping
Robin Van Persie's impending exit from Arsenal looks set to become even more controversial.
The Sun that the Dutch striker may have been tapped up by Premier League champions, Manchester City. Arsenal are said to be convinced that RVP's agent, Kees Vos, has already held talks with City over a summer switch and the club may consider legal action. Not since Ashley Cole's move across London, from Arsenal to Chelsea, has a club received a fine for 'tapping up' and if the Gunners premonition proves to be true, it would make the 'Transfer of the Year' the 'Story of the Summer' and bring the English games reputation tumbling down to a state they thought they'd avoided following Cole's much discussed move to the Blue half of London. Meanwhile, shareholders Usbek oil magnate Alisher Usmanov and Farhad Moshiri, who hold around 30 per cent of shares, blasted The Gunners this week over failing to agree a deal with star asset that would see Van Persie commit his future to the club.
