Arsenal Transfer News: Gunners Want To Re-Sign Cesc Fabregas?

Daily Mail. The former Gunner's captain is currently taking a break following his exertions for Spain at the Confederations Cup in Brazil, and is understood to be contemplating his long-term future. The 26-year-old quit North London in 2011 to re-join boyhood club Barcelona, where he began his career as a youth team player in 1997 before joining Arsene Wenger's side in 2003. Publicly, the Spaniard, who has also been linked with Manchester United, insists he wants to stay at the Nou Camp and has no intentions on calling time on his two year stay at the club. However, doubts over how he fits into manager Tito Vilanova's plans having been regularly omitted from big games last season have left the former Emirates hero assessing his options. The Gunners are poised to strike if the midfielder decides on a move, and have first refusal should Barca be willing to sell, which would make any potential deal relatively straightforward to conclude. They would have to pay a fixed price of £25 million to re-sign the player, however, who featured 303 times for Arsenal, scoring 57 goals and providing 100 assists over his eight-year stay in North London.
