Arsenal Transfer News: Nicklas Bendtner Joining "Top Club"

Malaga and Galatasaray now the favourites to secure the Danish striker

Ekstra Bladet Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner will leave the Premier League club and join a "top club" this summer. That's the word offered by his agent Tom Brookes, who claims that Malaga and Galatasaray have both made offers for the 24-year-old Dane, who spent last season on loan at Sunderland.

"Nicklas is a top striker, who just proved himself at the Euros. I'm certain that he is going to end up at a top club, but I'm not going to be drawn into speculation."
The Denmark international is surplus to requirements at The Emirates, after Arsene Wenger brought in both Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud plans and has been hotly tipped for a move away, despite having two years left to run on his current deal. Both Malaga and Galatasary might appeal to Bendtner, thanks to the promise of Champions League football - and it may be Malaga who emerge as favourites, as the Spanish club are looking for a replacement for Ruud van Nistelrooy, after the former Manchester United striker retired at the end of last season. Malaga apparently see a lot of Van Nistelrooy in the Dane's strength and physical presence, though his scoring record, particularly at Sunderland last season leaves a lot to be desired, and his attitude has often led to high-profile off-the-field problems. According to the same report, Malaga have backed up their interest with a firm offer, but Galatasary, who have also been linked with Newcastle's Demba Ba, have tabled their own lucrative offer to try and convince Bendtner to swap the Premier League for Turkey. One stumbling block, say Ekstra Bladet is the huge difference in national mentality between Denmark and Turkey So, Arsenal fans - would you be happy to see the back of Bendtner, or does the Dane deserve one more chance at Arsenal with Robin Van Persie possibly on his way out?
