9. Pepe (Real Madrid)

For one reason or another, there always seems to be an air of negativity surrounding Pepe in the footballing world. However, the Portugal man has won nine major honours at Real Madrid alone. In spite of his aggressive nature and reputation, Pepe was not sent off once in 27 games last season, and received only four yellow cards.

At the age of 32, it is quite clear that Pepe's years at the top level are limited, but he has shown no signs of decline so far. With Benitez supposedly favouring a Ramos-Varane centre-back pairing in the coming season, Pepe may be allowed to move on for a relatively low fee.

A two-year deal could see Arsenal really benefit from the Madrid man's experience, athleticism and footballing ability to improve their back line in the short term.
