Otamendi has been heavily linked with a summer switch to the Premier League, with both Manchester United and Manchester City credited with an interest.

The Argentine international would probably command a fee in excess of £30 million, and it is understood Valencia are reluctant to sell their star centre-back. Otamendi has been capped 25 times by Argentina, and recently featured during the 2015 Copa America.

Otamendi would fit into Arsene Wenger's way of playing, and is more than comfortable bringing the ball out from the back. Similarly to Godin, he also has a knack of scoring important goals - most notably last year scoring the winner as Valencia ended Real Madrid's hefty 22-game unbeaten run.

The 27 year-old may prove tough to sign for Wenger, who may not be willing to offer similar wages to the two Manchester clubs. Should he do so, however, Otamendi would be a great addition to the Arsenal squad.
