One of the brightest young talents in Spanish football, Paco Alcacer will feel desperately unlucky to have been omitted from Spain’s Euro 2016 squad despite having been their stop scorer in qualifying with five goals.

The 22-year-old has been at Valencia for 11 years, and it would be hard to wrestle him from their clutches, but it would be a struggle worth fighting for. Having spent a few years shining for their ‘B’ team, Alcacer made the step up in 2013 and has repaid the faith of the coaching staff with 43 goals over the course of the last three seasons.

He has been linked with London in recent times, but to the blue of Chelsea. With Arsenal fan Michy Batshuayi having rocked up at Stamford Bridge however, you wouldn’t expect the Blues to be readying a bid for the Valencia starlet.

Arsene Wenger should act now.
