4. Kyriakos Papadopoulos
Arsenal have quality running through their side in most areas but against Manchester City at the weekend, defensive problems were highlighted with Manuel Pellegrini's side running riot. Centre-back in particular has always been a problem area for Arsenal and with the exception of Per Mertesacker, still is in many ways - more so now that Laurent Koscielny
is out indefinitely after being stretchered off at the weekend with a knee injury. Thomas Vermaelen replaced him on Saturday but the 28-year-old is way out of Arsene Wenger's reckoning having only made four appearances this season, and
faces an uncertain future. A new centre-back would be a welcome addition therefore in January to help shore up the back four as well as provide cover for what has, at times, been a stretched backline at various stages this season. One option is Kyriakos Papadopoulos, the highly-rated Greek international who, at 21, has already started making waves in Europe recently. He is on both
Arsenal and Liverpool's radar and his natural strength and dominance in the air would make him an ideal signing for the former.
